Hi Everyone,
My name is Karen, I am the Associate Producer on Florentine Films newest project: "
I Love My Chevy," which will aim to document and celebrate the past 100 years of Chevrolet. I had the pleasure of speaking with Don Williams earlier this week about the film as well as the history of the VCCA, and it sounds like there could be some great potential here! I hope you will take a moment to read about the project and ways to get involved.
We are hoping to incorporate several aspects of Chevy history and culture as told by enthusiasts, auto journalists, collectors, photographers etc - covering all eras, from the Series C to the Volt, pickups to lowriders, NASCAR, the successes and failures of their ad campaigns, the highs and lows from Chevy overtaking Ford in sales in 1927 to GM’s bankruptcy in 2009, and the future of the company. And always, we’ll be asking the questions: is Chevrolet the quintessential American car? What accounts for its popularity? How does Chevrolet reflect the spirit of America?
The film will air on PBS in 2012. We are currently planning shoots in Michigan, Arizona, Florida, California, and North Carolina- more stops might be added along the way. If you are a collector, know a collector, would like to share your Chevy story, have photos of you and your first Chevy or would simply like to follow our progress please check out our site!
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!
