Hi fellas.
My 39 has an I beam front end and is way to high. I would like to lower it an inch or two. I know all you guys are about keeping it original but it is way to high. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

The original had 8 leaves and the ends of the leaves are tapered. The springs were softer than a 1938. I would suspect the original springs were replaced at one time and the new ones have either more arch or thicker leaves. You could eleminate one of the shorter leaves and see what happens. I have seen 1939's in this country also that have had their front springs replaced and the front sits way too high.

Thanks Gene, i might take out one and see if it brings it down a little.
How you ever heard of using a drop axle or drop spindles on an i beam font end?
Thanks again
