Hi guys,

I have a 1953 bel air two door sedan, with no factory power steering.

Is it possible to obtain a complete original system?

I would use aftermarket parts just as a last resort, but even then I am not sure what to use.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Vitelio.

It would be very difficult to obtain a complete power steering unit. The problem is that only a handful of people know what it takes to be a complete unit. If you find one, expect to pay about $1000 for a complete unit.

There is a guy on the "Chevy Talk" website who is well versed on power steering units and applications. He goes by the name of "Jalapeno" and his email is rpo324@sbcglobal.net

I would think he could assist you ... he has assisted others in the 49 to 54 forum on Chevy Talk. He is in Texas.

This may be Jalapeno, not certain. His website is chevyps.com

Send him an email to verify.
