Hello Joe, and welcome to Chevy Chatter, Try the Filling Station or Obsolete Chevy Parts. Both carry the venturi cone and rebuild kits for the carb. I don't know if the plunger leather is included in the rebuild kits, but you could ask. http://www.fillingstation.comhttp://www.obschevy.comHappy Motoring, Dan

In order to change the carburetor choke cone the venturi must be removed first. It takes a special puller to get the venturi pulled. Even with it there is not a 100% guarantee it will not be damaged. Fortunately both the venturi and choke cone are available from the Filling Station, C&P Automotive plus other part suppliers. The pump leather comes with the repair kit but I think it is too expensive just to get that part and a few other gaskets.
There are a couple of rebuilders that frequent ChatII and have the Carter tools to pull the venturi. Send me a PM and I will give you their names.

Also, when removing the venturi you have to be careful not to break the standpipe or you will be buying one of those too. The Filling Station has all of the parts that you need for your 150-S Carter carburetor.

I think I sent a PM, not real good at this computer stuff. And from your description of the difficulty of replacing the choke cone, perhaps I should get by with the old one for awhile and see what else I find this winter as I go over the car. Thanks for your input. Joe

If the engine runs well or maybe just okay then run it. As long as you can enjoy the car then do it. When it gets to the point that it is not a pleasure to drive, get it fixed.
