REVISED---Swapping 216 in a 48 Aero for 56, 235. Understand that I need to use bellhousing from 216.

Will use 56 flywheel with 12V starter.

Any thoughts

Thanks,

Avid,
That seems the most usual means of hopping up the old Chevrolet. I would recommend changing the differential to a 3:55 or 3:70 rear gears (torque tube and gears) as well.

The conversion to 12 volts solves a lot of problems that the 6 volt can't easily cope. I hope it all works out well.

Good luck,
Charlie

BTW: As Gene has pointed out, you can get the 3:55 from any 50-54 PG and a 3:70 from any 53-54 stick.

BTW2: I can't remember how much more HP the 235 has over the 216 but I think it is about 25.

Charlie,

Thanks for the response. I have the 3.55 kit for
future installation. I am a novice, so I will have many elementary questions in the future,
I am really impressed with the VCCA website and
chat room opportunities.
