By the serial number coding of my 50 Styleline, I know it was manufactured in October. But was it October of 1949 or 1950? Did Chevy produce and introduce a next years car back then like they do now; e.g. 2011 cars introduced in the fall of 2010? Was the October manufacture of my 50 Chevy, October of 1949 or 1950?

Your 1950 would have been assembled in Oct. of 1950. 1950 production began 12-19-49 and finished 11-11-1950. The actual new car announcement for the 1950 was in early Jan. 1950.

Super! Thanks Chevy Nut for the info. So my old 50 is 5 months older than me and we're both aging gracefully.........

Well, maybe. Of course you may just think so. Parts are easier to replace on the 50. Take a good look at the car and then go to a mirror and take a good look at youself. Better yet, just ask your wife.

Cars have no teeth to fall out, no hair to loose or turn gray. Wrinkles can easily be removed. They don't need to get up in the middle of the night and drain their radiators.

I began my dealership life in 1950.....and now its 60 years later parking and I am still living in the '50's.
