Was there a heater designed for the 1930 production year or was the good old lap blanket used? If there was one, can someone describe it.

Yes, there was a genuine Chevrolet accessory hot air heater used in 1930. It was an "exhaust jacket" type of heater. For detailed information and photos on this accessory heater, purchase the complete set of 1929 and 1930 Chevrolet Service News (12 issues per year) from the Filling Station and you will have lots of information concerning this rare heater.

It sounds as if I will just have to use a good lap blanket after all. I have not won the lotto either. Is there a patent number on any of the ones you may have. I can look on the US Patent web site to see what it may look like. chevy

No patent numbers. Your best bet is to order the Chevrolet Service News mentioned above and you will be able to see the many pieces that are used in the exhaust jacket heater and how they are installed.

Thanks for the response. I have a set of the 1930 Service News but not the 1929. I will check them out when I get home from a visit with the grandson. auto

There were two types of this heater. One heater will be in Feb 1929 Service News page 14 and the second later style in September page 53. I'm looking for the register and cover that mounts in the floorboard for the earlier style but would take either. Have posted in wanted from time to time. Any help would be appreciated!
