Back from my trip and the door opener is in. Tomorrow the heater gets installed!

Heater was installed today! Piped in and up and running! Went out after dinner and picked up a load of OSB. Tomorrow, it's onto putting up some cover on the walls!!

Well, we were outside after 8:30 am and started on the inside walls. We were able to get the whole west wall, most of the north wall done and a few sections done on the south wall. Hopefully done the south & east walls tomorrow!

Ok, all of the walls are done, except for the window & door trim! Swept up all the sawdust! Taking the week off work, so tomorrow it's on to electrical! Install light fixtures, switches & outlets!

Electrical done!! My dad came by this morning after I installed the plugs & switches and gave me a hand while I put up the lighting. Another thing off the list! Oops, still have to wire in the compressor, as soon I can figure out to get if off the trailer and into the corner! Any ideas??

Compressor on Trailer:

Back the trailer into the building near the corner where it is to be located. Support the back of the trailer with jack or jack stand. Walk the compressor to the back of the trailer. Once near the back put piece of carpet or plastic tarp or sturdy cardboard on back of trailer. Lay the compressor down on the carpet and slide the bottom over the end of the trailer. As you slide it back it will begin to tip down. Let the bottom slide to the floor and then stand it up and walk it to its final resting place.

The only tough part is laying the compressor down on the trailer. You may need some help depending on the weight of the compressor and electric motor.

Being that this is my first compressor and all, I didn't think that you could lay it down because of the oil in it??

You might find It easier to rent, If you don't have one, an engine cherry picker to lift It off the trailer. Those are very top heavy and hard to manuver. Whatever you do, don't try to manhandle It by yourself.

Your garage is looking great....and it looks like you have lots of good lighting as well. Cool! However, if that garage were mine I sure wouldn't put the air compressor inside in the corner due to the noise it will generate. You might be kicking yourself later if you do.

Thanks! I've been thinking about boxing it in with an access door and a vent to the attic for air. That way I can put soundproofing in the walls and isolate it better. Hindsight being what it is, when the pad was designed and poured, an extra spot for the compressor would have been nice, making it outside the walls.

Dave if you have a neighor with a tractor and bucket you could lift it off thst way always worked for me, use a strap.

Great looking garage! I used the Rustoleum garage floor epoxy in my garage 2 years ago and it still looks like new. So far it's resisted all the usual garage chemicals as well as my floor jack, jack stands and weld spatter. As I recall there is a minimum temperature needed (50 F?) for the epoxy to cure, but since you have heat in there it should set up well. One package of the Rustoleum is enough to do one single car garage, so you may need several.
My garage is attached to the house so we no longer track concrete dust into the living area.

Good idea, but no one nearby with a tractor, but I will let you know when the fish are biting!

Well, I didn't get the compressor off the trailer today. I do have some manpower coming over tomorrow morning, so with a Fridge dollie, we're going to manoeuver it off the trailer and into the corner.

I did put the Camaro in to see what it looks like in it's new home.

Now that garage looks a lot better

As someone previously suggested, it is not too late to pour a slab out the back side of your shop and finish it off to fit the air compressor. You will thank us in the future if you follow this piece of advice. Ask me how I know. If nothing else you will have more room.
