More great changes Bill, thanks.

I followed through with your suggestion and went to the "sign in" page for the New Resource center. But got stumped when I could not register using my password {3+ years old}.

Then I tried to register using the page for my name. etc. But got stumped because I do not know what a "validation code" is, as requested on that page.

I believe {?} the validation code might be on the G&D mailing label. If so I'll have to wait another 30 days or until I get my next G&D, as I throw the yellow protector page away when I get the magazine

Is the validation code possibly inside my G&D ?
Thanks,
Michael41

Dang; I hate being such a computer dummy I can't even make two sets of numbers printed right in front of me work out.

But, what the heck, I guess "early carburetors and wiring diagrams for many years of early Chevs" isn't exactly my cup of tea anyway.

On the other hand, I will want to read the new DEC ads in 3 weeks or so. Maybe I'll have it figgered out by then. Dang.....

I have the same problem with the new re-registration?
Why do we need to register if we are already members?
And who saves those plastic bags and covers anyways?
Can anyone help?

Mike.......

I agree with Mike, are we just kicking stones back and forth ?

I'm a member. Been a member. Paid my dues. Have a "plastic" card, an ID number. Been on the Board, ?

New the "registration" page says they do not recognize my name & password. But "they" had it for the past 3 years....?

??????????

Maybe the word "validation" is throwing people. It is a ONE- TIME action that members need to do, in order to "activate" their online identity. The main result is that each member ends up with an ID and PASSWORD that is unique to their account. This can be done anytime, day or night, weekday or weekend. The process is fully automated.

Now, having said that, there are glitches in the process. The primary one that I have seen is that a lot of members never identified their email address to the club. So when they try to "validate" themselves they can't do it - when the database has no record of their correct email address. When that happens, the member needs to call the Membership Office to complete the "validation" process.

As for your question, the Membership Office has been trying to validate members during renewals since the middle of last year. But, a lot of people still don't provide their email address... and then later when they finally decide to try out the Members Area, they can't log in due to NOT having a valid member online account.

The end.
