Hi
I recently took off my header board (32 4dr sedan) to see why my windshield wouldn't go up. I found the mechanism working but needed lubrication to make it ride smoother. Then I checked the windshield to see if it would move and it doesn't. I also removed the side pieces for the windshield. It seems to be stuck in place. Any helpful hints to get it out without breaking it. I plan on getting a new one made (safety glass) and then putting the original away in a safe place.
Thanks,
Cliff

Over the years the metal frame on the glass corrodes and the rubber gets hard and sticks to the metal. The best solution is to cut the rubber, take out the windshield then replace the plate glass with safety and install new rubber seals.

Chipper - That sounds like what I need to do on my 1925 sedan. Is the rubber available for a 1925 as well?

Thanks for the "how to do" on the windshield. I was figuring that's what I had to do but was avoiding cutting anything until others verified that was the way to do it. I presume FS sells the seals or is there another source and what do you think the price might be ?
Thanks again,
Cliff

The rubber seals will be available from the Filling Station. It will be up to you to identify the rubber you need by the pictures in the catalog.

Thanks Ray, for making me look closer at the catalog. I see they make it for 1926 and I would think it would be the same for my 1925. Cudos for the VCCA award.
