I've never done any restoring of cars always restored tractors. I have just bought what we call a doodle bug (sp?). Its a chevy, 6 cylinder, 4 speed transmission, I think a truck rear end, and honey cone radiator. I found numbers on the firewall, Body# B13834, Job# 30559, and engine# K447443. Can anyone tell me year, model, engine, maybe color, and any other info about this car would be appreciated. Thanks for any help. Dale

The Body# B13834 = sequential assembly number for 4 door sedans at Buffalo, NY plant

Job# 30559 = 4 door sedan

and engine# K447443 = is likely a '33 or later engine originally installed in a 1/2 ton truck. The K designation was first used in 1933 for 1/2 ton trucks. If you post the casting number (raised six digits) and casting date (raised letter, space, number or two, space, and single digit) we can ID the block.

Chipper I looked on the engine and the casting # between the starter and the dist. is 838101. The head # 838355 with the # 4X below it. Thanks for any help with these numbers.
