I am curious about some carburetors I have. We bought our coupe in the summer 2001 (date of engine 6-12-29 Janesville WI) The fellow we bought it from said he had sent the carb that was on the car to Texas and paid $300 to have it rebuilt. It is a RJH-08. Probably should be a CRJH-08 136S,. The info I have says they went to that in June of '29. I also have two CRJH-08, and a unusual one I picked up at a swap meet for the bowl it is a Carter DRJH-0 and looks like it would be a great fit for a '28 if you weren't too worried about points since it has the straight mounting pattern and an accelerator pump mount. All of them have the same patent dates, but the model castings are in different locations on virtually every one. I assume it was probably Chip for the rebuild. Any ideas what these other carbs fit or came off of?

There are at least four difference in the castings for the '29-'31 Carter carbs and all are RJH-08 or CJRH-08. The C only indicates those castings made in the Bay City, MI foundry. The early '29 125S has the short/fat accelerator pump and coarse threads for it on the body. The later '29-'31 (136S or 150S) have the longer pump and fine threads in the body.
To be very technical the location of the RJH-08 on the body, cover for the accelerator pump and other internal parts determine if the carburetor is actually a 136S or 150S. I doubt that many VCCA judges know the difference.
The DRJH-0 is a '28 Pontiac, '28 Graham Paige. Nash used a DRJH-08.
