Hello,
I'm working on a '37 4 door Canadian. I'd like to pull the pins on the hinges. Some are nearly frozen, two are badly worn and damaged. A hammer and driver doesn't seem to budge them. Anyone know how to get the hinge pins out of the hinges? I don't see a lock. Does it require a hydraulic press?
Thanks,
Dan

If you have the hinges off the car, use a torch to heat the ends of the PINs red hot, let cool for a few minutes and then heat them to red hot again. DO NOT HEAT the BODY of the HINGE.
Let them cool to room temp and you should be able to push them out with a drift punch and a hammer.
Heating the PINS causes them to expand and push back on the rust.
I use this method on any pin or bolt that is stuck.
40 years ago an old body man told me about this.

Any man that thinks he is too old to learn something new probably always was

Thanks. I'll give that a try.
