I need help installing wiper arm properly, so that tension is achieved. The vehicle is a 38 chevy pickup with a period correct wiper arm.

The wiper arm tension is provided by a spring that is behind the trim cover. Some brands had a coil spring and some a leaf spring. ....either way, this is what provides the tension.

Thanks for your reply. I will try again tomorrow but I don't think that will solve the issue 100 percent.
