Does anyone have a photo of the correct top holders (top rests to hold the top when it is down)for my 1930 Phaeton? The ones on it are clearly a hand-made replacement. I think the part numbers are 355872 and 355873.
Better yet, does anybody know where to find a set of them?
Thanks in advance.
Chip.

If they are the same as the ones on my '32 cabriolet I will take a picture of them and send it to you.

Thanks JYD (Prez), I feared as much, but thought I would give it a try.
Maybe someone else can take pictures of the right ones for him.
Do you know who has the right model?

That's definitely what I was hoping for. If I can just find a few people who have cars identical to mine which have been correctly restored, several mysteries like this one will have been solved. So -- if you know of anyone who has a '30 Phaeton please ask them to contact me. I'll even come take the photos if they're not too far away.

According to the parts books the top holders for '29-30 Phaetons were 355872 (R) 355873 (L). They most have been rests as Stud and Strap (leather?) are also listed. The '31 Phaetons used a different holder, stud and strap. So any '29 or '30 Phaeton can be used to determine what you are looking for. That is if it has the original holders.

Thanks very much, Bluezone. That's super! Now I at least know what I'm looking for.
Does anyone by any chance have a car with these on them that I could copy? Or better yet a set of them I could buy?
Again -- thanks for the photos. I can even probably reproduce them from the photos if all else fails.
All the Best,
Chip.

Arvid, I just thought of something else: Did the foundry which casted them by any chance save the wooden patterns? That would save me a lot of work. Again, thanks very much for the photos...really helpful. All the Best, Chip.

Now, that's serious restoration! Not many people are doing their own castings. I'm impressed.
Thanks again for the info.
All the Best, WLB.

Super! I'll contact you when I know exactly when I'm coming up. If you can find the extras, it would solve a big problem for me.
This is very good news.
All the Best,
Chip.
