Will a GMC oil pan fit a '54 Chevy 261 of the same vintage? The previous owner put a GMC oil pump on the 261 and modified the pan, oil capacity is somewhere around 7-8 quarts! I haven't changed the oil yet! Thanks.

The GMC oil pan (and engine) is completely different from a Chevrolet in 1954. The oil pan from a 1953 Power Glide engine or any 1954 Chevrolet car or truck will fit.

I have a decent used 1954 261 oil pan. If you are interested send me a email and I will send you photos of it,

Thanks folks, I was just looking to clean up the look of the pan. I guess I could strip the paint and work a little bondo to smooth it out.
