Does anyone know where I might find a set of intake manifold sleeves for a 1933 206CID motor? Is it safe to run the engine with out them for any lengthly period of time? Right now the motor is missing one. Whats remaining of that one is just the bushing ring part that guides the sleeve into the motor port & the two remaining ones are pretty well shot. I've checked with the Filling Station & they said there are no reproduction ones avaiable.
As always thanks for all you guys out there that help us guys keeping these old girls running.

Floridaboy I had the same thing with my 32, one was missing. I looked aroung and could not find one. I found a set on ebay that were supposed to be for a 32 but they did not fit, to small diameter. I finally just made one. What I did was find a piece of pipe, I think I used a piece of very small exhaust pipe. Make sure it is the correct OD. I cut off a small piece about 1/4" long, slit it, and opened it to slide over the end as the collar. I spot welded it to the sleeve and then cut the sleeve to shape. A little work with a file to clean it up and you are good to go. I would make you one if I had one to use as a pattern but my engine is back together so I dont have one to use. If you need help let me know. I asked on the sight what these do but I don't think anybody had a real good answer.

Please see earlier topic on manifold sleeves on next page (about 20 topics down) for explanation on what these are intended to do. The idea seems to be that they help in projecting the fuel mixture further into the cylinder head and closer to intake valve, thereby assisting fuel distribution and improving performance. There are dimensions provided for making them. As for my '30 engine, I had the head and valves redone by an old friend last year who has since unfortunately passed away. He never mentioned these sleeves, and so I don't know if my engine has them or not. May loosen manifold to look see some day!
