47-55 ad trucks which ones used the colum shift and which ones used the floor shift? I see both. Does just the deluxe use the colum shift?....I am just starting to learn about these trucks I am looking for one and have seen them both ways.

The 1948 and up trucks with a 3 speed had the column shift. This would be the 1/2 and 3/4 ton series. 1 tons were all 4 speeds and a 4 speed was optional on the 1/2 and 3/4 ton.

Yes. Actually the only 3 speed floor shift for the AD trucks was the 1947....and they make-up a very small percentage of the AD trucks. The 1947 4 speed was still the old non-syncro 4 speed and it had a little latch or lever under sthe shift knob that needed to be lifted up inorder to get into reverse.
