Glad that you finally got to see the paint chips. That site is almost impossible to navigate.

Even if JYD is informing of only some shades of blue I still claim the possibility to use the color chips I found. All those chips have been issued by Acme White and Color Works, Detroit, MI. So, in my mind no doubt about where I have got the information and where it would be used (in USA).

F.ex. Fernandez Blue has this mixture:
16 parts Proxlin Basic Tinting Prussian Blue No. 810
7 1/1/4 parts (same type paint) Umber, No. 829
6 parts " " Black, No. 895
3 3/4 parts " " White, No. 556, 33 parts in all.

Yep, Acme had lots of color chips for various colors (reds, blues, greens and etc.) and so did other paint manufactures. I have some of those color chips in my collection as well. However, only Serge Blue, Blue Bell Blue, Maganese Blue and the opalescent Dagestan Blue were used on Cheverolets made in the USA in 1932 (not counting the early 1932 Sedan Delivery).

There were some other "special order" colors for fleet use from the factory and also from the dealer as well.

The Serge blue is indeed very dark. The paint chip I have at first glance looks black. When viewed in bright light with the contrasting fenders etc its a nice looking combination.

Serge blue is a really striking color when in the sunlight. In a dark garage it looks black.
