Hello friends,
it is time to say thank you for all help and advice I got during last two years now.
and it was a pleasure for me too to collect knowledge about service and repair of these old cars and sometimes I could help one too.
giving and getting, I did enjoy it.
But it is over now. came out of hospital in late july and was (and am) under pressure of time. the old lady who owns the house wanted to start with action pulling down the burnt down ruin and first the chevy had to move. Chip did help me a lot and sent a "care package" but unfortunately important parts of the rear brake system were too damaged by fire and I was unable to get the rear brake back to working condition. Did try everything but no success. at least I had to give up and the car is gone now. a hotrodder bought it for little money and it is over now. lost around 17000.- Euro but there was no way. No chance to get my workshop back and without definitly no chance to keep an old chevy running.

Over, time to say bye bye.

Stefangermany, very sad.

no worry about my health, am on a straight way back to life, right arm is fine, left arm will neede some additional days. means, the body will be ok soon, but that fire did change my life completely. am not the same as before. have a lot of psychologic problems now and did not sleep one single night sinse fire day without waking up at 2:00 am and night and sleep is over...

That is terrible news. So sad about the car but more importantly is that you are on the mend. Hopefully, one day soon, you will find another car.

Think positive, important that you're fine. You'll find another Chevy.

Stefan,

It is very good to hear you are on the mend. Not so good to hear you had to sell your beloved Chevy. As karl31 said, it is important that you are fine. And, maybe, you will find another Chevy. Stay with us, if you can. You have a lot experience you can share with others. Best of luck to you in the future.

I am as everyone is so sad to learn of your loss-get healthy and then reexamine your passion for automobiles-you had it for a reason.
I don't know your age but in 1975 I lost my house and a partially restored 65 mustang convertable in a fire,I'm now 60 and permanently disabled but my passion for old cars and the people in this forum have given me a new lease on life-get well and stay positive-I won't say it's easy but please give it time and move in a direction that pleases you-life is just too short-God bless you

So sorry to read about your bad luck. My thoughts go out to you and hope that you mend quickly and completely. If would be extremely sad for me personally if you give up on your love for old cars and I have always enjoyed your posts. Please keep them coming as your help is always appreciated and enjoyed. Best to you always and keep us informed about yourself and keep looking for another car to love.

Jim.

I can only echo the comments of others.

Take care, please keep posting on the site.

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

Its sad when another of our old cars goes to a hot rodder. I have owned my 32 chev for 5 decades. I hope I will never have to sell it. I have had it so long its a part of me. Im not sure how to keep it out of hot rodders hands. Maybe I should make a will and donate it to a museum or sell it to another VCCA member..

Best wishes to you.
Bye for now.
