Hi There joeyk3950: It appears that you have made 21 posts on CC II so far. Cool! At any rate, this forum is for new members to post their very first question if they don't know where else to post. Since you are an existing member you might want to post your question regarding your 1957 Chevrolet in the 1955-57 forum of Chevy Chatter II.

Good luck with your project. Sounds like you are going to have a great car when completed.

First just the kick-down switch mounts on a bracket at the carburetor. The solenoid is mounted on the overdrive unit.
The switch bracket mounts on the left front carburetor mounting stud. Then a tang is bolted to the lower hole of the lever on the side of the carburetor. This is the hole the Power Glide down shaft rod would attach to if the car had PG. The tang then hits the button on the switch when the accelerator pedal is floored. The switch is adjusted by the threads on the switch that the two check nuts fasten to,

The bracket for the kick-down switch is part # 3722513 and fits late 1955 with 4 barrel and up to 1962 with 4 barrels. The tang is part # 3722514 and fits up through 1958.
