My '32 is paint code 92. It's present color is blue beneath and black above. I assume that's correct for 92, but I don't know. Wheels are cream/straw and pinstripe against the black is that same color. Pinstripe against the blue is a bright red tape, not paint. Nicely done though. Was pinstriping always the same color throughout or varying depending on the base color? Is the car painted to code 92?

The color of the pin striping varied with the color combination used. However, the passenger cars with black fenders had a Gold Bronze stripe in the groove of the bead.

Paint number 92 is Serge Blue and Black with either St. Germain Red or Cream Medium wire wheels. The pin striping is St. Germain Red and Cream Medium. The instrument panel depression and the window offsets were also painted Serge Blue.

You can purchase a pin striping drawing for your car from the Filling Station. The drawing shows the locations and the sizes of the pin stripes.

The first change they made on the '32 paint drawing was to move the fender stripe up 1/16 above the crease of the fender bead.

Yep, that change was made on the pin stripe drawing in November of 1931. However, some of the original 1932 literature shows the fender stripe in the groove of the bead. My all original 1932 Special Sedan has the remains of the fender stripe in the groove of the bead and my car was manufactured in March of 1932. Looks like some factories didn't adhere to the stripe change on the drawing...but that is no surprise since in many cases different factories did different things.

Thanks for your input. Looks like they painted my car right except for the dash board which they painted blue and the indentation which they painted black. Also the indentation near the top of the dash which they painted black as well. Oh well, looks good so I guess I can live with it.
