Hi guys & gals I have a question a 29 2 door sedan trans. Is there a seal to keep the trans oil out of the driveshaft tube. My rear hubs were full of black tar like stuff. How do I stop this from happening? I have the Eng. out and how should I service the trans? Should I just change the trans oil or is there more I can do? Thanks Stagetech.

Sounds like you should replace the front seal and bushing in the torque tube. If the seal is worn out the transmission oil can migrate to the rear end resulting in an overfill condition. At some point the oil will escape through the axle seals and ruin your brake linings and make a big mess.

Stagetech--You will probably need to replace the propeller shaft bushing Filling station part #CV717 and seal #CV716. You can access their site/www.fillingstation.com.

Thanks n2chev, Can you help me get this in the right order. 1st
I need to pull the trans (the eng.is already out) then the propeller shaft tube, then pull the drive shaft to acess the prpeller bushing? Is the seal beside the bushing? Is there a special puller for the bushing. I'll be soaking these parts for months to get this far, what fun, I just can't wait. What do you think?
