Hi Guys,
I've searched and read all the previous threads regarding exhaust systems. The results are inconclusive to me so I thought I'd ask if anyone has purchased a system within the last year so I might get an idea of quality.
I'd really like to find one that will fit my '29 without taking it to the muffler guy.
The brands I see are the two on ebay ($100 and $120, I bought the $100 and it arrived with one end of the front pipe squashed a bit so it wouldn't fit in the muffler. I messed it up after the seller advised me to take it to a muffler shop or file a claim with the shipper. I had already scraped the mailing label off the pipe so I really couldn't file a claim any more.)
The others are Filling Station, Kantor's and Parks Pipes. But I see posts on all of them that they may require reshaping or cutting.
Any recent experiences out there?
Thanks, Jim

I also installed a Filling Station system on my 29. There were no issues at all--fit perfectly with no modification.

I ordered from the Filling Station and the pipes came from Parks Pipes, their supplier I guess.
My muffler and pipes came this week. Complete with the manifold donut. The front of the tailpipe was dented but I got around that by cutting off 1/2". Both pipes fit into the muffler properly.
but... how do I connect the front pipe to the manifold? I have two flanges, one from the old pipes that fell off, and one from the bad new set I bought off ebay. Neither will slide past the hump in the front pipe that rests against the front of the muffler. ( Yes, I took the front pipe off the muffler to do this to put the flange on)

I'll pursue both options: Enlarge the hole on my old flange from 2 1/16" to 2 1/4". I'm doing this now-slow going. or, finding an original flange with the 2 1/4 " opening. Any one have one or know where I can get it? Everyone around here seems to be out of universal exhaust flanges with 2 1/4 " opening.
