FYI,
I called the host hotel for next years central meet to make reservations-per info provided at awards brunch during this years central meet.
the holiday inn express in dundee mich 734-529-5100.they told me that they are closed indefinitely due to storm damage and are not taking any reservations.they also have no idea when they will re-open.
is the host region aware of this?it was not brought up yesterday at central meet awards brunch.we were told that this hotel was for sure accepting reservations.just a heads up. jim

The 48th Central Meet will be in Dundee, Michigan. It will be Friday July 15th and Saturday July 16th, 2011. It will be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Dundee, Michigan. The cost will be $76 per night. The Holiday Inn Express sufferred serious damage during the same tornado / storms that destroyed 2 of our fellow VCCA homes / property / cars.
The hotel has assurred me that they will have all of their damage fixed and that they will be back open for business by the end of 2010.
I hope to See everyone in Dundee in July of 2011. Dundee, Michigan is about 60 miles south of Flint, Michigan. The 48th Central Meet will be a judged meet only. There will be no extra frills like a banquet, vintage clothing, plaque tour etc. We will just be judging the cars. You can receive one VCCA judged award in Dundee and then get another VCCA judged award in Flint. Our 50th Anniversary Meet will be in Flint, Michigan from Sunday July 17th thru Saturday July 23rd, 2011.

Thanks Dave for clearing this up. I also was told by a LMR member that they will start taking reservations after 8/1/10. In the old days before computers I have made my reservation from the banquet table for the next year as soon as I saw a flier for the next meet. Now we have to wait until the system will take it. Hello Back Roads: The host hotel will start taking reservations for the 50th Anniversary Meet on 8-01-10 or the next day. The host hotel is the Holiday Inn Gateway Center in Flint, Michigan.

Are the actual activities days for the 50th anniversary meet Monday thru Friday?
ie - arrive Sunday -- depart on Saturday.
