There is a 1939 (green) Chevrolet just listed on ebay. It has a hood side emblem that says master 85. It is listed as a master 85 Deluxe. The lister says it is all original and has never been touched. The car doors have no arm rests and look like they are original 1939. Did Chevrolet make a car like this? BTW there is a VCCA sticker on the windshield.

It would have to be either a Master 85 or a Master Deluxe....there is no Master 85 Deluxe. What is the ebay number?

Tiny found the one I was referring to. I tried his link and it took me right to it. Isn't a Master 85 a coupe? Bob

No, it could also be a sedan. This looks lika a good buy to me. If I had a bigger garage, I would think about it but I already have 3 cars in the garage and 1 in the driveway. Any more and the state of NY would probably make me get a junkyard license, or at least tax me a lot extra for something since that is our legislature's latest way to try and get more $$$'s for our way-overspent budget!! Its a Master 85 Town Sedan. That is what Chevrolet called a 2 door with a trunk. A Master 85 coupe had a short roof, longer trunk and no back seat.
The Master Deluxe had a 4 passenger coupe. It had two small folding seats in the rear.
It is not the worst car that I have evenr seen for $10,000. Is bare as far as accessories are concerned. Has only a heater, right wiper and the chrome grilles for the side grilles. The horns and grille guard are aftermarket.
Not sure what the color is if it is original. They didn't have a color like that - the way it appears on my screen.

With the miles and age you could plan on overhauling the engine and replacing the timing gear, probably will be needing a clutch and brake work and the steering and front end will have some worn out parts. To make i really nice a paint job and possibly an interior.$$$$$
