Just bought 9 vintage metal valve caps at a flea market for $20.00, and all in great condition ,while on vacation. Did the old tubes have all metal threaded valve stem's?? I went to put some on my car but the valve stem's are all rubber coated. Will these still work on this style of valve stem??? If so what would be the best way to install them without wrecking the valve stem's???

You have an option. You can remove the tubes and install metal stems. Or, very carefully grind or cut some rubber off the stems to the point the new cap will fit. I have some I cut off and used a cap that are over 20 years old. Just don't go too deep.

Thank's AntiqueMechanic After you shave the stem would it be wise to use dish soap to lube the rubber, to make it easy to thread on?? Do you have a pic of the originals that would of been installed at the factory? would like to keep it original. Thank's again

Hi Jay28, Yes I would use some form of lubrication. For a picture of the correct "dust covers" go to page 52 of your owners manual dated Sep 1, 1928.
