I wired up the headlights today on the 28 and although they work, they are very dim. They do dim down more with the switch, so it appears I didn't mess up wiring the switch. I highly suspect it has the wrong bulbs in them. I will double check the voltage in the am to be sure. Does anyone have the modern equivalent bulb numbers for the headlights and tail and brake lights? Just need regular bulb numbers, not going to put in halogen.

The 1000 and 1110 are also used by f**d so the model A and early V8 suppliers will also have them.

The '28 and earlier lights only had a single element bulb and not the dual filament used from '29 and up. The correct bulb for your '28 is a 1129 a 21 CP single filament bulb. A resister on the light switch dims the bulb to give too intensities. If the reflectors are in good condition you should have bright lights. If they are still dim then check the ground on the light to bar and bar to fender and fender to frame. Resistance to ground will dim the light bulbs.

Thanks guys! The auto parts store down the road has all of the bulbs I need. The bulbs that were in my car were wrong. It had 1141 which are 12v which I suspected. I ordered 1129, 63s and 87.
