I'll be off line for a few days starting tomorrow morning. I have a date with an orthopedic surgeon at 7:30AM for a replacement of the OEM equipment on the right knee. It's been problematic for some time so I think it's finally time to do something about it. I'm supposed to be incarcerated for three days before coming home so I guess I'll see you all sometime Friday if all goes well. parking

Tiny......I had a total knee replacement two years ago. I am doing great. Some advice---- They will start therapy before you leave the hospital. Do every thing they tell you and more. The more you use and exercise your knee the better. Good Luck JIM

Tiny, I had my right knee replaced last June. Do all the exercises they tell you to. It will get better and better as each day passes. When I went to the pros for therapy, I always treated myself afterward by going by Chic-fe-Lay afterward and got myself a large chocolate milkshake. It was something to look forward to and, accordingly, acted as an incentive. Like a carrot on a stick.

I hope you're recovering well.

Best wishes, Charlie
BTW: Don't skip that milkshake. They are so good!

The wife had it done several years ago, as soon as she was placed in a regular room they started therapy with a machine that moved the leg bending the knee, she was up and walking the same day. She did all she was told to and then some and is happy as can be with the result. Not the same story with a friend who kind of wimped around about the pain etc. She is not doing well. talk

Got home today. I was up by day two but just for a short way. To help with the pain they do a nerve block that pretty much turns the affected leg in to a stick of putty until the block wears off. Day three I earned my drivers license(walker)and started making progress. I mostly have control over the leg now but also the pain that goes along with having a zipper in the knee cap from about 3" above to 3" below. Physical therapy is fun. crazy

Tiny,

Glad to hear your doing OK. My wife had both hips & both knees replaced in the last 10 years. Tho they still bother once in a while the awful pain from each is gone. What they can't do now a days.

I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.

I'm glad to hear that you are back home and doing well. My wife goes to consult with a surgeon a week from tomorrow. She has been told she needs both knees replaced. She is holding off about doing them both at one time. I also need to go in but I don't have any fondness for the knife.

Tiny, You got that right...most of the cutters here in Texas drive them Caddy Esclades and Lincoln Navigators. Their big old hats, over their big old heads, won't fit in a Porche or a BMW and their hats blow off when they let the top down!
