Hello , I'm after some help in regards to the restoration of my 52 Bel Air. *Has anyone got an original seat fabric sample or a interior picture of a Bel Air with the correct trim? *I'm looking for some parts, rear seat, rear interior quarter panels/armrests and some rear interior window stainless steel trim. *Has anyone got a picture of the correct under bonnet light and were they used on other GM cars? *I'm also after reversing lights, are the 49/50 different to the 51/52, any other GM cars use the same light? Is there a seperated switch for the reversing light or is the nuteral switch replaced with a duel use switch? ny help would be appreciated, Ian Ferguson.

I can't help Ian with any of his questions except the one about original seating material. Ian, I'd suggest you contact SMS Upholstery in Canby, Oregon, USA. I've bought original material from them for years for a wide variety of car years, including 1942, 1954, 1962, etc. They have a HUGE stock of materials. I believe they also make new (to-look-original) door panels and side panels. Here's a link to SMS Hope this helps. Good luck with your other questions.... Bill.

The reversing lights are the same for 1950-1952 cars. The installation kit comes with the dual use switch, lamps, wiring. instructions, etc. I do have a new kit if you are intrested. The same under hood light was used from 1949-1952 - and I can't find a pictureof one.....it was an odd looking thing and doubt if it was used on any other GM cars.

Hello Ian, Have you tried the National Chevy Assoiciation? www.49-54nca.com 651-778-9522 They have a "generic version" of the panels, seat covers, headliners, etc. whole package kits ready to go. Much less expensive than original type and from what I understand it wears much better as well. I'm not there yet in my resteration but that is a huge decision for "purest" like me to make. Pay 2-3 x's as much from someone like Hampton Coach Le Baron Bonney Company Amesbury MA www.hamptoncoach.com 978-388-8047 or order a generic package, not original but close in color? Both comapnies will send you samples. New Zealand? tie a huge red stag up for me someday and I'll be down! there goes my "original" seat covers! "goodday!"
"Frame Off" restoration, its a journey not a destination
