My son found these on "Cracked.com". Believe it or not, these are real trucks! When lots of Americans picture Japan, they're picturing Tokyo--one big Blade Runner-esque city. But take the subway out of the city, past the endless suburbs and there's a Japanese heartland just as rough and tumble as the deepest parts of the South. There are even Japanese truckers. But unlike American truckers, who spend their off hours doing meth and hiring inexpensive prostitutes, Japanese truckers spend their free time--and thousands of their yen--turning their trucks into something out of an extremely flamboyant, musical version of The Road Warrior Amazingly, most of these trucks are actually used to transport goods. Sure, the guys may only turn on all the lights when they're showing the cars off to their buddies, but they also work in these things. It's like the FedEx guy coming to pick up your package in a neon David Lee Roth jumpsuit and a pink feather boa. Awesome, in other words. Known as dekotora (a combination of the English words "decoration" and "truck") these guys add amazingly elaborate spoilers, lights, boxes and elaborate murals to their rides. A dekotora truck can have a Cadillac bumper, illuminated chrome side-running boards, paper lanterns, luggage racks that light up like Christmas trees, detailed murals featuring dragons, samurai and cartoon characters, and even metal tubes shooting off the front that serve no purpose at all.

Come on, now Fin doctor: American truckers, who spend their off hours doing meth and hiring inexpensive prostitutes Aren'tyou doing a trashy attack of the American trucker that hauls most of what you eat and most of what you use with that comment? I think that those so called trucks you posted the pictures of must have drivers akin to godzilla's stepmother! ![[Linked Image from farm4.static.flickr.com]](http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3302/3563439922_3596e5071e.jpg)

Mack Add Australian trucker in that comment. They put up with a lot of uneducated car drivers. If you dont believe me go for a long haul ride for education. Tony

I don't know, maybe findoc got stiffed by a trucker or maybe he got run off the road by one. It would clear up a lot of misconceptions to hear from him. Don't you reckon? Before we make any kind of a bad determination....everyone deserves to be given a chance for a statement before we post another post critical to his.......

I saw this before and thought it was funny. I knew findoctr didn't write it.
I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.

My father was a truck driver but never owned his own rig and did haul interstate before his health declined. He then drove smaller trucks locally (more or less) as his health got worse. In the summer, I would ride with him and loved it but he explained how I should explore a career in something more easier on the body. So I decided that auto body on a hard concrete floor was cushy enough job for me. *???* Duh! But then I really can't complain. I have always loved my work!

When it comes to the split on the super slabs I take the "truck lanes" rather than deal with the idiot passenger cars on the "express lanes". I'd rather drive along with the pro's instead the rookies anyday.
Those trucks of Japan reminds me again that Asian design really sucks.

You won't see any of those trucks here, they don't appear that they could pass a a customs inspection or a DOT roadside check! We want to be careful that our US car and truck companies don't go out of business or we may have to start driving this kind ofjunk!
