I was wondering if my 1931 sport coupe heater was an original. The ID plate on the heater says HaDees car heater and fresh air. The wiring looks to be original. Did they use different brand of heaters back then?

Often the car was sold with no heater and the owner installed one later to save a dollar. Could have been two or three years later.

Conway, check out Bill Barkers 31 site. Go to the VCCA home page and look for favorites. There is a lot of information their for 31's.

Thanks for the info. The HaDees heater from the 31 popular science article that DanR had a link to is the one I have. I would like to think it was installed back in the day. This car appears to be correct with one repaint 40-50 years ago.
