I have a camshaft I need to verify what year and model it could be use for. I purchased if for my 26 chev but the diameter on the end journal and forward journal is slightly larger then my 26 chev. Measurements on end journal is 1.242,Middle where distributor meets is 1.32 and front next to fibre gear is 1.43. Fibre gear is still attached and is 7/8 in thick. Camshaft and gear are in very good condition and I have pictures if anyone wishes to view. I want to sell to someone who could use it but I want to make sure what it is. Fibre gear has a number 346590, could not find on camshaft. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the old manual project [http://www.tocmp.com/] and search for the 1928 Chevy specs. There should be dimensions for the camshaft there. It may not tell you what it fits unless it is a '28.

Any chance you read that cam gear number wrong as 348590 is for a 1927-8
