Hello, I am new to this forum, found it doing a google search, as I am looking for some replacement parts for my newest family member.. I am a proud owner of a 1937 Pontiac Silver Streak Straight 6 Sedan... have been lucky to find some mags and catalogs for parts, but still need some additional help finding "certain" ones... I hope you can help! Looking for : - LED Lights (Tails) as I have the housing already (fender mounted rears)
- Replacement turns, front / rear fenders (broken glass / missing) - I may be able to use fender mounts as well.. trying to keep to original as best as possible.
- Sway Bar Bushings (link Kits for the ends) bar itself is fine)
- Painless wireing system for new 12v - ripped out all wiring for new (old was fire hazzard).
- ANY links or sale items I could buy from you?
Greatly Appreciated!

Uhhh......not that I wouldn't be willing to help if I could, but you do realize that this is a chatroom for the Vintage CHEVROLET Club Of America, don't you?

Now, Bob...!! The thing to realize is that these early Canadian Pontiacs were built on the same line as the Chevrolets, in Oshawa and I believe Regina?? (I'll get corrected on that guess!) They use most of the same parts and were built on the same chassis. Places to try for parts that may fit are The Filling Station, Chevs of the Forties, or in S.Ont, check with Antique Chevrolet Parts, (905)827-3162. In the meantime, we'll get Charlie to convince you to trade it in on a '41 Chevy!!

You might send canadiantim a PM or e-mail. He also has a Canadian Pontiac. He might be able to help you out.

Here's help...Randy Steiner. Steiners Auto Salvage, Amity, Missouri. 816 449 2598
This guy has a old pontiac junk yard with acres of antique pontiacs. Call him and he'll put you on the right path.
BTW..very religious..careful how you word things
I agree about redoing the wiring. Either find the correct harness or wire it from the start using fuse blocks and modern wiring methods.

Hi Northern Friend, These forums are not solely for the USA. True, they belong to the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA) but that is really a misnomer. We have many VCCA club members throughout the world and quite a few of those are very active in these forums. Chances are you will see a posting from one or more of them on this site each day. Since a lot of GM products are interchangeable, especially on older model cars, you can probably get a lot of help here. We have some master mechanics who know cars inside out and backwards and we have hobbiests who are real craftsmen and are not easily deterred by small problems when it comes to cars. Welcome to the site and you are invited to join the VCCA. Owning a Chevy is not a prerequisite! Beamer

Hello, True true, I just found out about that.. seems my Streaker was "modified" in the past and the sway bar was added.. I found a replacement Sway Bar End Link Kit (8" in length) - I am using a Chevey 57 Truck Part for that :) Thanks! I am finding this forum VERY helpful! Note - 1937-38 Chevrolets did not have a front sway bar.

Silverstreak, If you look at a copy of "Collectable Automobile", you will see that they have a listing of all previous issues. They had a really nice article on the early Pontiacs about a year ago which included the Canadian details. As you are probably aware, they made a version of the 216 which had a slightly larger displacement. When looking for engine parts, you will come across some that fit the 216 and the 224.
Where abouts in Ontario are you? I live in Bracebridge.

Silverstreaker... I know of a 37 or 38 in Barrie that is being streetrodded... It's possible that I could get you a contact for some of his cast off parts. I worked with the guy's son, I don't know the car owner, but could get a hold of his son for a contact number. PM me if you're interested.

I have a full tail light housing attaches to the rear fender with "side" glass for my 37 (pics avail soon via webshots).. glass lens needs replacing... what is the difference with the reg glass, and the one with "blue dot"? 3 bulbs? Did my 37 come with rear tails? Should I just buy a new (whole) unit? sell off my housings? 1937 Chevrolet Tail-light Bezel and Lens http://www.drantiquecarparts.com/category-3.htmDRKC1201L 1937-1938 Tail Light Lens Assy. w/Blue Dot L/H (EA) ORDRKC1200R 1937-1938 Tail Light Lens Assy. I certainly can't be called a "pro" but in many places blue dot lenses are illegal. Check your local laws before investing in them. The stock US 37 housing used two short BA15 bulbs, with a little bending of the internal bracket you can make room for one short bulb #87 I believe for the tail light and one longer BA15 base bulb #1129 if I remember right for the brake light. The 1129 has 21 candle power & the 87 has 6 candle power. The way my 38 is wired, I assume the 37 is the same, the tail light stays on when the brake is applied providing a total 27 candle power during braking.

Hi Everyone!... Just giving an update.... my Pontiac has now a new engine, sadly the 216 in it had a bad crack in block, unrepairable... so I found someone here in Hamilton Ont. who bought a 57 chev truck and we used that engine, fits like a glove :) I will post pictures of her soon, as she is coming home shortly and will be undergoing a strip with a soda blaster... I have lots of resources now, and will share all ove them if anyone is interested... 40 Magazines, and 14 restoration contacts I have now... I am so glad I found this forum... sister master 6 & 8's of my Pontiac...
