On the 1928 muffler bracket, how many bolt's with the chain loop (the loop that is attatched to the strap) are to be on this bracket?? Does the strap feed through the muffler bracket around the muffler then to the bolt loop or is there a bolt loop on both end's of the strap?? I only have the one bolt for the strap, and was woundering if I need to make another for the other end??

Jay, you always ask at the wrong time for me to answer. i had the muffler off about 6 weeks ago. I can tell you there is only one bolt and the other side is attached to the hanger, but I don't remember much more.

Thank's Shawng good to hear from ya. I kinda thought it was only one bolt but was not sure, It does'nt show in my book in great detail on mounting hardware. That make's less work for me, (makeing another bolt). Is the strap it self just a metal strap or a kind of binding strap they use on shipping pallet's that is stronger?

The strap folds back on itself on the outboard part (next to the splash apron) of the bracket. There are two slots for that. Then the strap goes around the muffler and to the slotted end bolt. The strap folds back on itself again (strap on the outside and then back to the inside) in the bolt's end. Once the nut is tightened on the bolt then the muffler is held securely to the bracket.
