Good Day All
Could anyone describe how the 1932 coupe grill mounts to the radiator shell. It looks to me like there are two small screws at the bottom and two bolts below the middle of the shell. Above the middle and around the top of the shell there is nothing that attaches the grill to the shell. Am I missing a bracket?

You should have a "D" shaped bracket with a stud in it that supports the hood bar and upper shell along with the stone gard (or grille) in place. This bracket also holds the headlight bars. I think I remember that the "grille" is attached with flat head counter sunk cad-plated screws and square nuts. Some of those screws(maybe all of them) are covered by the weather strip lacing.

I don't have my Coupe anymore so I'm trying to picture it from memory. I hope this helps.

Yes RGwiz your memory is good. I have the D shaped bracket that attaches to the shell and hood rod. But I cant quite get how the grill attaches to the shell. The top of the grill doesnt seem to be held in place by anything.

The grille is not attached to the shell as described above.

The grille is inserted into the back of the radiator shell. There are no fasteners holding the grille to the radiator shell at the top. About three-quarters of the way down on the grille there is a bracket on each side of the grille and these brackets are bolted to mating brackets that are part of the lower radiator shell support on each side. This support is riveted to the bottom of the shell as one unit. Also, the bottom of the grille is bolted directly to the inside of the lip at the bottom of the radiator shell with small screws and nuts.

Once the grille is inserted into the back of the radiator shell it will be obvious as to how the grille is attached to the radiator shell.

Good luck!

I stand corrected thanks to the JYD.

I should have said that the grille has no other bolts above the 2 lower side screws and nuts on the INSIDE of the shell. I did say that the "D" shaped bracket and radiator actually help support the top of the grille. There are two small spring type brackets welded to the back of the grille that rests against the top corners of the radiator. They kind of cushion the grille against the radiator and force the grille outward against the outer lip of the shell.

At the top and upper sides of the shell, the flathead screws I mentioned actually hold the "D" bracket to the SHELL, NOT THE GRILLE.

Sorry about the confusion, I went a took my shell and grille down from behind my bar to double check.

I think I understand. My grill is missing the two small spring type brackets. Could someone be so kind and email me a picture of the spring brackets. mcoats07@comcast.net
Thanks

I have an original grill shell mesh insert, and it has 2 rubber block cushions on the forward upper side which look like they prevent rubbing and chaffing of the radiator shell at the top.
Unfortunatley , i dont have the rear springs in place.
