what kind of fuel pump do you have?

I have a 1927 Chevy Capital AA 4 Door also a 1927 Chevy Touring car, a 1936 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 2010 Corvette LT3 Convertible and a 1953 Packard Caribbean. My tow car is a 2011 Suburban.

If you are using a vacuum fuel pump, check the vacuum shut off valve in the cover of the vacuum tank or the butterfly valve in the bottem of the tank.

Hi there and welcome to Chevy Chatter II! Glad to have you with us!

To get the correct answers you might want to post the questions regarding your 1931 in the 1929-32 forum instead of here in the 1912-28 forum.

The correct carburetor for your 1931 Chevrolet is a Carter Model 150-S. The aftermarket Johnson carburetor could be your problem.

Since he has a 1931 Chevrolet he should have a mechanical fuel pump instead of a vacuum tank.

I can't think of a reason that the carburetor would leak when hot and not when cold except if the fuel is boiling. That is highly unlikely as the vaporization of gas has a cooling effect. It might be a factor of time and not heat. In that case it could be the air vent to the float bowl is plugged or partially plugged. Or you have a small leak in the needle/seat.
