Was a 1927 Chev tourer fitted with a factory screen wiper of any kind?

Hi,
Aust chevs with holden built bodys were usually fitted with a hand operated wiper.
I suggest up in your climate with all the rain an aftermarket 6volt wiper would be a good investment.Try evilbay or swapmeets.

If you need a windscreen wiper in a Chev 4 you shouldn't be out there.Park the car,go shopping, whatever. I have a 6V electric wiper that I took off because it was too slow. The original hand wiper has variable speed and can be quite fast though I have always thought that it was a dangerous distraction from driving.

I have a General Motors Australia Parts List specifically for the 1927 AA cars and commercial. It lists a wiper for the Sedan, Coach, Coupe, Landau, and the Cabriolet. It is NOT listed for the Roadster or Touring.

Thanks. Yes, I agree the Chev shouldn't be driven in the rain but I just wanted to know if a wiper was included in the original equipment or options.
My Chev (and I) have spent the last 18 years in the desert of Mount Isa where it never rains. Well, hardly ever. Our recent move to the tropical coast has meant a lot of summer rain days (and constant mould suppression).
I had a look at a 1928 Model A F##d today and it had a hand operated wiper.

Here in the States we apply Rain-X and forget the wiper. Just experienced a driving rain storm on the first Mid-America Tour in a '28 Chevy. Also had 14 others including a '23 Roadster in the gully-washer. Never plan to drive in such a rain but when on the road never know when you will get dumped on.

How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
