I have a 1940 Chevrolet and can not find the serial plate number on the car could someone tell me were to look. Thanks

Visualize someone sitting in the passenger seat. Raise the mat and look under his/her right toe. You are looking for a basically black piece of aluminum about 3 1/2 X 1 3/8. A number will be stamped on the plate. It is secured by a small nail in each corner.
