I have been involved with Chevrolets (6&8 cyl.)for over 60 years, but know nothing about 4 cylinders.
I picked up a couple of supposedly Chev. 4 cyl. heads at the Pate swap meet this past weekend. They have the following letters & no's stamped on top 32620, Mason, F & MP Co.,
date code 4-0-7 B
Are these 1927 Chevy. heads?

Thanks for the information. It looks like I misinterpreted the date code. According to the information it looks like you are correct, the 407 B indicates that the heads are for 1916.
Trying to identify the engine block will be next.

If you go here

www.reginaantiqueauto.ca

then tech library and download the 490 parts book the photos
will make identification easier.
Early engines were thermo syphon cooling and had a plunger oil pump. You can also see the differences of the early and late heads.
