Do I have to log in everytime I enter the website? I thought I checked a box that said "Remember Me", but I can't find it anywhere in my profile (I finally found my profile "edit" tab after I logged in). Not a biggie, but if the function is available I would like to use it. I also got a welcome in my mailbox, but couldn't find a reply to say "thanks". Thanks. Dennis.

after you get logged in to the Active Topics page, save that page to your FAVORITES. then each time you want to log on click on (Active Topics last seven days) in your FAVORITES list. Now if you delete your cookies or get your Windows upgraded or "clean up" your computer which erases your cookies it will not work, and you will have to go thru the setup again. The "remember me" will work to help you log in , but you still have to log in, unless you use the favorites method I discribed. By the way everything will work much better if you are a VCCA member, it don't cost much to join!

Since all computers are "set up" differently, there are many, many reasons why some function differently from others.
One OTHER techique that helps some people, is to DELETE your current Chat Cookies and then, close the browser, open a new one, and log in again (with the "remember me" checked). This will cause a new set of cookies to be saved to your PC (or Mac).
You can Kill your cookies by looking down the right column to the end. Click on "Kill My Chat Cookies".

Another way that I use (may not be the recommended way) is not log out each time. Tony

I never log out; just exit by clicking on the "X". I always have to log in again, and the site always opens to the forum where I made my first post...the 58-60 forum. I always open the site with the desktop icon, works for me better than messing with the favorites. Not complaining mind you, it's just that I'm not very adept at negotiating a computer and I do get a little frustrated at times. Thanks everyone for the help. Oh, BTW, what are the advantages to a VCCA membership?

A couple of advantages would access to the Technical Advisors and you also get the VCCA's monthly color magazine, the Generator & Distributor. Along with that you get free advertising in the classified section of the magazine each month as well. There are also other advantages too! On your desk top icon, you can change it to Chevy Chatter's Hompage if you wish and then each time you open up the desk top icon you will go directly to the "Forum List" instead.
