I am having a lot of problems with the top on my 75 Caprice. It's a nice car and I,ve owned it for 16 years. The top never has worked properly and has only gotten worse or stayed the same despite a lot of effort on my part to repair it. I have even gone so far as to remove a scissors top assy. from a 76 Cadillac that was in salvage condition but the top still worked properly, and want to transplant it to my 75 Caprice.

Does anyone had any experience with this type of project or the scissors top assy. in general?

I'm not afraid to attempt this project, but I would like to know someone who has scissors top experience to correspond with in case I have any problems during this procedure.

I,ve had a number of people besides my self look at this top but no one has been able to fix it.

All help greatly appreciated.

i've found with our GM converts that lack of lubrication at the pivot points contributes to inoperability. saturate every joint with Kroil and see what happens. may save you from dis-assebly. good luck, mike
