I don't know if GM made them but I saw them advertised all the time as a kid. I don't know that I'd want a fuel/air mixture in my tire.

I have seen similar items in use. It doesnt take long to pump a tyre up but as stated does put a volatile mixture in the tyre, beats sitting beside the freeway with a half flat tyre and a fully flat or no spare. Tony

Back in the 50s farmers used these to keep air in the truck and tractor tires. We also used butane and propane.

I don't know if I should admit this or not, but I actually had one of those when I was about 15. I converted an adjustable nozzle fly spray and put a valve stem in it and painted my 32 Chevy coupe with it using the coupes engine to power it. I used gasoline to thin the paint! Talk about a fire hazard, LOL My nephew owns that car today and it is restored to show quality.

I painted my Model A Coupe with the bug spray attachment on my Mom's Kenmore cannasiter vacuum cleaner. Guess what color I painted it? answer: Chartruese with fire engine red stripes and wire wheels. here is a picture right after the paint job....me at the wheel ![[Linked Image from pic100.picturetrail.com]](http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL1180/4341552/9153654/327374404.jpg) Notice the custom side mounts, Chevy front bumper, sealed beam headlights and the neat fender mounted park-turn signals, that were really truck cab clearance lights? Yep, I was a country boy......

Good job MrMack, Looks Great! Back in those days, for lack of tools and money, we had to use a little "red neck ingenuity". Gitrdone!

mack: i too painted my 2nd car, a 50 plymouth wagon(i was 15 years old and figured a mattress in the back would entice the youg ladies to go for a ride). i too used an attachement that came with my mom's vac cleaner. i have no picture of the old mopar, but if i did, i'd send it to websters dictionary for insertion under "orange peel". the mayflower wagon didn't last long(dad saw my intentions) and traded my wagon for a 49 chevy coupe(which i still have today). thus began my association with the bowtie brand.mike
