Hi i recently put a new carb in my truck and i thought i had a line hooked up wrong so i switched it and tried to put an electric choke on. Disasterous, the carb shot and caught fire. i paniced and threw water on it to put it out, about half a galon, not all went into the carb but a good amount. I knew this was bad so i pulled the carb off luckily no damage to it or to anything in the truck except for the wire to the electric choke all burned up. I did not try to start it afterwards but what do u suggest i do now to get it ready to run again without damaging anything?

remove the plugs and crank it for a few seconds.
invest in a Halon extinguisher

Halon was banned years ago as it ate the ozone layer. I bought a 10Lb CO2 extinguisher for the garage
It's not how fast you can go, but how good you look at 20 MPH.

It might be a good idea to oil the cylinders and crank over while the plugs are out before starting.

Ok guy thank u for the advice, have all the plugs out for a couple days now and went to crank it over and it clicked to crank then all power was lost. any ideas what electrical would cause that to happen. If i wait a couple mins itll come back and let me crank for a plit second agaain befroe it shuts off.

bad connection or a bad battery, could be a loose post on the battery or several things. start with cleaning them battery posts and cable ends, check the wires on the solinoid and key switch. You may have knocked something loose during the panic situation or messed up a wire.
