There is a 1950 on eBay with what is claimed as a removable top. I didn't know any were made that had a removable top. It's located in Ohio. Any information on this?

By the way, i think i saw the one you were referring to on ebay. The seller has made a correction about it being a removable hardtop. What is the latch for? I am not familiar with these hardtops. EBAY 1950 Chevy HT EBAY Link

Boys, I had one of those, except mine was a 1939 Master 4 door hardtop sedan. It didn't work out. When the sun was shining I never could find a good place to store the top and keep it from getting scratched up. Then when it came in one of those Texas Blue Northers, I never could find anyone to help me put the top back on, that latch is where I hung my bucket full of ice cold JAX beer!
When I bought it my dad told me "Get a Life!" ......not the JAX beer but the car!

Gene,
I don't remember "Brownie's" real name; but, as I recall, his last name is Peterson.
He lives in Utah. You can locate him in any G and D in that he's the "expert" (or whatever we call it) on the early 50 Chev wagons.
I contacted him 3-4 months ago that way. The only reason I mentioned that is that confirms his info in the G and D was current in the last few months.

PS --- F W I W, I do know he sold that 51 wagon on ebay a few years back. After all he went thru to get it and the story and all, I thought that was kinda odd; but....

The G&D doesn't list his name just E.L."Brownie" Peterson,
I sent him an email but with no response, in my email I asked
him if he had any photos of the build or any problems he might have encountered that he would care to share.
