Hello, new member here, just purchased a turn signal kit for my 1940 Master Deluxe 2-dr sedan. Car is original 6-volt, in the rear, can I use a #1154 bulb, will it be bright enough? As for the front, can I use the parking lights on top of the fenders, or do I need to wire in fog lamps in order for the turn signals to be useful? I am new to these cars, any advice would be appreciated, I'll probably have more questions, thank you.

In 1940, when accessory turn signals were ordered, Chevrolet used a dual filament socket for the front parking lights. These dual filament parking light sockets are nearly impossible to find. You do have several options. One is to use the single filament socket in the parking light and just wire it for the turn signals. The only negative is that you would be giving up your front "running lights". I have also seen individuals use a pair of dual fog lights as the front turn signals or you can just add a pair of small lights onto the front bumper braces. Your choice.
I have found that the turn signals are a real safety advandtage when driving my 1940. Very few people understand hand signals anymore, unless it is the hand signals that people give when they are mad.
