I finaly got up the nerve to work on my car. The car is very rusty and anyone else would pass on this car but it has sentamentle value and i have to save it.The trunk floor is rusted out on the ends where it meets the 1/4 panels and i was wondering if this is repoped or do i have to make it? The car needs lots of metal replaced as its a Wisconsin car. The engine runs fine and the powerglide works good all after sitting for over 30 years out side. I keep walking past it to work on my 50 sport coupe becouse of all the work it needs but i better do something and i never did this much repair before and don't have the skills.

thanks
pete

Hi Pete - Contact The Filling Station, 800-841-6622, or go directly to their online catalog, www.fillingstation.com and they should have everything you need. You can learn skills.

Don't forget National Chevy Association. I have purchased from both and have found the items very good.

It looks like you have to be a member of National Chevy Association to buy parts from them, zat right? What advantage does that give you, I mean is it like Sam’s Club or Costco where you get big discounts on parts? Do they stock parts that are not available or sell them cheaper than the major vendors like JC, Chevs of 40’s, Filling Station, Chevy Duty, LMC?
I was looking at the William’s Exhaust Headers distributed by the National Chevy Association. They are obviously Fenton headers but appear to have the William’s logo cast into them. Is that a correct assumption? There isn’t any link for an email or questions on that webpage.

No you don't have to join the National Chevy association to buy from NCA, you can order by phone, snailmail or online, also you can order a printed catalog. If you are doing a restoration on a 49 - 54 Chevrolet car they have some good tips and ideas in their National Association monthly newsletter. I have sevral copies, from when I was a member, one has a good article on installing windshields and rear windows. I think that you get most of the fee for joining back when you order again.

National Chevy includes membership when you spend a certain dollar amount. I believe it is $75.00 which helps to defray the cost of their monthly magazine. As other vendors they purchase from various sources and their quality is dependent upon those sources and the prices @ the time they purchase. They are very friendly and easy to do business with and have a good inventory of parts for 49-54.

Also you can check with EMS automotive in Ohio. They have several pieces of sheetmetal including body braces for the 49-52 chevy.
