The Rod which is attached from brake pedal to the "c"shaped assembly on the cross shaft. On my '29, this Rod is NOT 90 degree or perpendicular to the cross shaft. Is this correct??I think this might cause the binding Im experiencing.

I can't say for sure, I don't remember that one. But I would guess your binding is in the outer cross-shaft bearings...in the bracket that holds them to them frame. This seems to be the point of failure on the double cross shafts. Let us know and we can give you ways to free them up. To test, disconnect the rod from the pedal, and the four rods going to the wheels.

The cross shaft bushings that are on the ends and the center support often will bind up and cause problems. I had to use a pipe wrench and penetrating oil to get them freed up on my 28 and after sitting for a couple of months they would bind up again. The real solution is to remove the cross shaft and replace the old babbit ot pot metal original ones and have new ones turned (brass will work) There are a couple of threads here. look up threads by Bluezone, he made new ones for his car.
