Hi Everyone, I have a couple of questions which someone might be able to help me with on my 34. As you can see from the below photo I'm starting to put the fenders back on the car. From what I understand there is a, what I'm going to call a nut plate, which goes between the two fenders where they join below the radiator shell. This nut plate is where the seam cover screws to as well. Does anyone have an extra or one which I can copy? Or a drawing would work as well. I'm also looking for the following bracket which holds the throttle cable to the manifold. Does anyone know where I could find one of these? Thanks for the help.

32 Confederate While I cannot help you with your problems I must congratulate you on the restoration so far. I doubt it would have been that good when it originally left the factory, certainly not had the effort on the detail. You can park it in my garage any day. Tony

That plate you're looking for is where the fenders curl under in the front? If so that plate is just strap steel. It measures 5/8 x 4-1/2 x 3/16. It has 3 threaded holes, one in the center & the others line up with the holes in the fender(s). I can't tell what the thread size is yet as mine were broke off, probably #10 or #12. Joe

All I can say is I'm jealous. Joe is right, it is just strap steel. There are two though, a straight one and a vee'd one. One goes under the chin and the other inside the bottom lip.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for all the complements, the car has looked like this for a few years. A friend and I painted it in 2005 and then I bought a house and all the problems which go along with a house. Anyway, I now have time to start working on the car again and we have been finishing up the fenders and hood, as you can see. After the Portland Swap Meet we are going to start on the upholstery and then it is get her running and on our way to the Northwest Meet. Then spend the winter making adjustments for the Flint Meet. I would really like to take the 32 Phaeton, but I'm no where near being ready with that car. I'll post some more pictures after I get the fenders on.

Hi Pat, That is easy, I was the first one to figure this out years ago. What you need to do is post your picture out on the web using a FTP program. You should have server space at our hosting provider. You will need to read there web page on how to do it. Once you have it posted you need to find the web address to that picture like this: http://www.pacifier.com/~bruced/images/34carb2.JPG Once you have the address for the picture you go up to the button row below the smiles and find the one which is called enter an image. A text box opens and then copy you pictures address into that box, make sure you don't have two http://. When you do this the system will place it were your curser is on the screen. find the web address to that picture like this: http://www.pacifier.com/~bruced/images/34carb2.JPG To find this address, right click and select properties, near the top of that window will be the address for that picture. Copy the address and follow 32 Confederate's instructions.

32 - looking at the throttle cable bracket I have to ask if you have access to simple machining tools as it looks quite easy to refabricate a new one - simple cuts/ bends and drill work - just remember to use flat head screws to keep it right and you should be able to do that in short time - the cable retainer ( small piece with three bends) looks like the hardest part but pretty easy to create. She is a beautiful car and I love the color, when we painted our 34 master we went with the cafe au lait and Chocolate with black fenders and orange wheels, a factory color scheme that really stands out!! Much prettier than the all black she wore when we got her as a 43 year young beauty. The 34 has driven over 40,000 miles since we bought her and has been trouble free and the workhorse of the tour cars for nearly 35 years, Ihope I get to see yours in person one day - Good Luck

Just wanted to let you all know that I got a phone call the other day and a friend has the parts that I'm looking for and will be bring them down to me during the Portland Swap Meet next month.
Hi Sambarn, Thanks for the note, I was planning on making these parts if I could find some to copy. Now it looks like I have them. I'm planning on having the car at the meet in Flint next year, so if you’re going you should be able to see it then. Not many people know this but I learned how to drive on this car some 21 years ago, then Dad and I took it apart to fix a few things.
