ok putting my first post in the dumb question forum

I found a 1.5 ton chevy truck that's only 1200 miles away (well its closer then anything else I have found anyway :)) its pretty rough shape the seller said it was sitting on a farm for the last 50 years. It was a closed cab truck and looks like the longer wheel base. It has a straight 6 cylinder engine and at one time had a flatbed. The firewall ID plate was hard to read but thinks it is 2ND04-758U

Can anyone break this number down for me and explain the break down so I know what I am trying to buy

2ND04-758U breaks down as follows:

"2" = truck manufactured in Tarrytown, New York.

"ND" = 1932 1 1/2 ton truck with dual wheels.

"04" = Truck manufactured in April, of 1932.

"758U" = That is the serial number of the truck from the Tarrytown factory. However, the "U" I am not familiar with.

That break down helps but now I have one more question how did you get the year? a 1932 truck body is still close enough for me but I'm just curious how you get the year just so I know

The "ND" in the serial number indicates 1932.
